The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye,in a statement said the suspect, a native of Umuobom, Ideato-South LGA, who is in charge of Authentic Power City Church, had, with the assistance of one Franklin Chizoba, lured the victim to his residence under the pretext of offering prayers for her.

According to the statement, upon arriving at the pastor’s residence, the victim was reportedly given a drink by him.

She subsequently became dizzy, creating the opportunity for both suspects to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

Okoye disclosed that, upon receiving the report of the incident, operatives from Orlu Division promptly arrested the duo. During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the offence and further admitted to engaging in homosexual acts.

The Command’s spokesperson further stated that the suspects have been subsequently charged to court and remanded at the Correctional Facility, Owerri, pending trial.

In a separate development, the same operatives of the Orlu Police Division apprehended a 39-year-old man, Ifeanyi Odinka, a native of Amaifeke, Orlu, for stabbing his 75-year-old father, Denis Odinka, to death following a dispute over proceeds from a land sale.

According to Okoye, during interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime.

The murder suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Owerri, for further investigation and prosecution.
