The Oyo State Government has dissolved the Governing Boards of about six hundred and forty-three (643) Public Secondary Schools in the state.
The government’s decision to dissolve the school boards was revealed in a letter issued by the Commissioner for Education, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, addressed to the Accountant General, Auditor General, Zonal Inspectors of Education, Local Inspectors of Education and Principals of Public Secondary Schools.
The letter directed individual Secondary School leaders across the state to ensure that all school materials in the custody of the now-dissolved Boards were handed over to the school authority before their departure.
Barrister Olaleye consequently expressed his appreciation of the School Governing Boards (SGB) for their contribution to the development of the education sector in Oyo State.
