Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, will on Thursday, May 21, receive the Nigerian Civil Servants Union (NCSU)’s “Governor of the Year” Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to workers’ welfare, people-oriented policies, and exemplary leadership.

The award, according to a letter signed by the Union’s General Secretary, Comrade Olowoyo Gbenga, will be presented in Abuja during the Union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

The NCSU cited Governor Oyebanji’s remarkable achievements across key sectors of the economy, as well as his transformative policies and programmes in Ekiti State over the last three and a half years, as the basis for the honour.

The Union also noted that the award is in recognition of the Governor’s developmental strides in infrastructure, economic reforms, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and other critical sectors.

In the letter, the Union stated:
“We bring to Your Excellency warm greetings and continued appreciation from the leadership of the Nigerian Civil Service Union (NCSU), under the able leadership of our National President, Comrade (Prince) Oluwole Adeleye Sunday. We are pleased to reaffirm our decision to honour Your Excellency with the prestigious ‘Best Governor of the Year’ Award, in recognition of your outstanding commitment to workers’ welfare, people-oriented policies, and exemplary leadership in Ekiti State.

“Your Excellency, please accept once again our profound appreciation for your continued support for the workforce and your administration’s remarkable achievements.”

Governor Oyebanji, who is widely regarded for his people-centred approach to governance, has continued to earn recognition locally, nationally, and internationally for his strides in human capital development and infrastructure delivery.
