Owa of Idanre and paramount ruler of Idanre Kingdom in Ondo State, Oba Fredrick Adegunle Aroloye has passed away.
He died yesterday in his palace in Odode Idanre at age 97.
He ascended the throne in 1976 and has reigned for 48 years.
He was not just a first class oba but a highly influential monarch who carved a niche for himself with his unique traditions of Idanre Kingdom.
Palace sources revealed to PRESENT NG that the Lisa of Idanre, High Chief Olu Akindolire, will be taking over the administration of the ancient town as the regent in line with the traditions of the historic town.
He is expected to constitute a regency in council any moment from now.
