The family of late Nollywood actress, Tope Osoba, has announced the postponement of her burial ceremony until further notice.
This was confirmed in a statement signed by the Osoba and Awonuga families and shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday.
The family said the decision followed the Candlelight and Artists’ Night held in honour of the actress.
According to the family, the postponement would allow it to make further arrangements and reach the necessary conclusions before fixing a new date for the burial.
“With deep sadness, the family of Tope Osoba wishes to inform friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers that the burial ceremony has been POSTPONED until further notice,” the statement read.
The family appealed to Osoba’s friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers for understanding, patience, prayers and continued support during what it described as a difficult and sensitive period.
It said the new date and venue for the burial would be officially announced once the necessary arrangements had been concluded.
The family also expressed appreciation to those who attended the Candlelight and Artists’ Night held in honour of Osoba, as well as those who had continued to support the family following her death.
“We sincerely appreciate everyone who came out to honour Tope, as well as all those who have continued to stand by the family with their prayers, love, and support,” the statement said.
The family said further updates would be communicated through its official channels.
