The Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), led by the Vice President, Comrade Abdul Wasiu Afolabi (a.k.a Askari) on Wednesday inaugurated the Ondo State Governor of OPC, Comrade Olayemi Victor at an event held at the NUJ Press Centre, Akure.
At the event witnessed by other State Governors of OPC across the south west, the newly sworn-in Governor, Comrade Olayemi assured the people of his readiness to work and ensure security of lives and properties in the state.
Comrade Olayemi who said Ondo State OPC will work with other security agencies to ensure safety of lives and properties enjoined the people to put their mind to rest as the state arm of OPC has offices across the 18 local government areas of the state.
In his remarks, the Vice President, Comrade Afolabi while noting that the visit was the first since the passing of its founder, late Pa Fredrick Faseun, called for support for the new state executives in the state.
The event also featured the investiture of High Chief Rufus Gbemisayo Oluwatimilehin, the Elemo of Oba Ile as the Grand Patron of the group in the state.
Reacting to the award, Chief Oluwatimilehin applauded Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his recent order that herdsmen should vacate the state forest reserve and stop night grazing.
Other dignitaries in attendance include OPC Governor, Lagos State, Comrade Ibrahim Olanrewaju, OPC Governor, Oyo State, Comrade Akeem Ademola, among others who were in the state to give support to the new excos.
