The palace of the Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi was thrown into celebration on Friday following the birth of a set of twins to one of his queens, Olori Mariam Ajibola.
The monarch announced the arrival of the newborn princes in a terse statement he shared via his X handle late on Thursday, May 14.
According to the statement, the monarch expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery of the babies and the wellbeing of both mother and children.
The statement reads: “To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again
“Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of a prince and a prince to the royal throne of Oduduwa today.
“We give thanks to Almighty God as both mother and children are in good health.”
The Ooni further prayed that the newborn princes would grow in good health, wisdom and greatness while upholding the cultural heritage of Ile-Ife and the Yoruba race.
