Nollywood actor James Olarenwaju, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, says he has received a brand-new car and a chieftaincy title from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The actor announced the gesture on Thursday on social media, thanking the monarch for a “royal welcome” and gifts to him and his partner, fashion designer Abiodun Tokunbo, also known as Luminee.
The visit came shortly after the couple welcomed a son in mid-June 2026.
In his statement, Baba Ijesha thanked the Ooni for the “royal welcome” and the gifts bestowed upon him and his partner. He also confirmed his installation as the Baba Awada Konge Oduwa of Ile-Ife.
The announcement comes shortly after the actor and Luminee publicly celebrated the arrival of their child in mid-June 2026. The couple has been the subject of significant social media attention since revealing their relationship and the birth of their son.
Baba Ijesha, a well-known figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, made headlines in recent years following legal proceedings that resulted in a three-year prison sentence for sexual assault.
He was released from custody in November 2025 after completing his term.
