Sesan Adelabu, a socialite and owner of emirate petrol station in Akure, the Ondo State has allegedly macheted his wife to death.
According to reports, the deceased popularly known as Emirate took his own life by drinking an insecticide after he murdered his wife.
The incident happened on Friday night, February 9, in the Alagbaka area of Akure.
His remains and that of his wife were said to have been deposited in a morgue.
When contacted, the state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the incident.
She said that the socialite murdered his wife and thereafter committed suicide by drinking sniper.
Odunlami added that police detectives have started their investigation into the matter.
