History was made on Thursday as the Nigeria Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Ondo State Chapter, swore in it’s first ever female elected Chairman in the person of Surveyor (Mrs.) Funmilola Fakorede.

In her acceptance speech shortly after the inauguration of the new state executives at an elaborate event held at the Exclusive Events Centre, Akure, and witnessed by top government functionaries, royal fathers, Fellows of the Institution and other Members across the states of the federation, Surv. (Mrs.) Fakorede said she never imagined herself becoming the number one Surveyor in the state. She promised to encourage team work and unity among all stakeholders, create an enabling environment for the growth of its membership and remain committed to ethical standards of the profession just as she restated her commitment to the welfare of members of NIS.
