The Social Democratic Party, SDP in Ondo state says it has uncovered plot by the All Progressives Congress, APC to rig the Saturday’s election through fake voters registers produced by a private printing press company.

SDP governorship candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, aka OBA who made this known while addressing journalists in Akure said the printing of the documents was contracted to the private company by some appointees of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Ambassador Otunba Akingboye said evidences available showed that the fake voters registers were allegedly printed in conivance with the aides namely Otunba Olugbenga and Dr Collins Olagundoye who are aides to the governor on Political matters.

Otunba Akingboye also alleged that some groups of people known as election mercenaries had been brought into the state by the APC and camped in different locations with the sole aim of rigging the Saturday’s election

“We have information that some people are camped somewhere to work on BVAS such that if Voters press APC, It will accept but if you press for SDP, it will be voided”

The SDP governorship candidate called on security agencies in the state to urgently launch investigation into the allegations with a view to preventing the use of the fake voters registers and election mercenaries to perpetrate electoral malpractice on the day of election.

Otunba Akingboye while challenging INEC to remain an unbiased umpire in the coming election said SDP would not allow the outcome of any election marred by irregularity of any kind.

“When we met at the stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, I specifically told the INEC Chairman, the REC and security chiefs present that this election lies on their hands and that they should do the right thing.

” What I know about Ondo state is that we have good hearts but we don’t take nonsense, it is what we want that we want. So they should play their part, we want free and fair election, if it is free and fair, we will aside by it but if it is not free, and fair, we will not take it”

Otunba Akingboye however expressed the hope in President Bola Tinubu’s respect for the rule of law and democracy to allow for a credible, free and fair governorship election in Ondo state.

Speaking on the increasing number of APC youths joining the SDP on a daily basis, Otunba Akingboye noted that his track records and manifestoes of the party would attract and right thinking individual or groups to join the SDP, boasting that more APC members would join the party before the election day.

The SDP governorship Candidate urged the people of Ondo state to shun money bag politicians and vote for the SDP, a party that has all it takes to turn Ondo state into a commercial hub, using its natural resources, agriculture and entrepreneurship
