Tragedy struck early today as a team of staff of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) travelling from Port Harcourt was attacked in Edo State.
Presentng exclusively gathered that the NDDC team was conveying a medical ambulance which was to be deployed in the battle against the Lassa Fever scourge before they were attacked by the suspected bandits.
A source, who pleaded not to be named, told our correspondent that the action of the bandits was despicable, as it will affect the efforts of the state government in the fight against the dreaded disease.
“The team was on their way to present a medical ambulance which would have assisted the state greatly in the fight against Lassa Fever, before they were attacked somewhere in Edo State,” the source said
