Ahead of the 2020 Ondo Governorship Election, the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi has ditched the All Progressives Congress {APC) at his Apoi Ward 2 on Sunday. Almost immediately, he picked up the membership card of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The Deputy Governor’s action has finally put paid to days of speculation of the rumoured plans of his defection from the ruling APC.
He is expected to officially defect to the PDP on Monday.
The relationship between Ajayi and his boss; Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu; went frosty some months ago over the speculated ambition of the Deputy Governor to contest the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Agboola’s dumping of the APC is coming a day after he was blocked by the police; led by the Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami.
