Ogun State Governor ,Dapo Abiodun has inaugurated the state Taskforce on human trafficking while pledging his administration’s commitment to the fight against the vice.
Inaugurating the committee in Abeokuta,the Governor represented by his deputy, Noimot Oyedele reiterated government ‘s unalloyed commitment to the fight against trafficking in persons.
According to the Governor,”Bringing a definite stop to the global vices of child abuse and human trafficking is an essential role of government, to ensure security of lives for collective development”.

He noted that inaugurating the commitment therefore is to compliment the effort of NAPTIP in curbing the dangerous trend.
Abiodun explained further that his administration has also put in place measures to help stop the vice which include the domestication of Violence against Persons Prohibition, VAPP Act; empowerment of relevant agencies; & synergy with Civil Society Groups & other stakeholders on continuous sensitisation, advocacy & intervention programmes.
He however charged the newly inaugurated Taskforce Team to come up effective initiatives and strategies towards curbing this notorious crime as well as reintegrating trafficked persons into the society for individual development.
The Ogun State taskforce team is chaired by Barr. Gbolahan Adeniran with Mr Daniel Atokolo as Co-Chair.
