The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has sacked Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya known as MC Oluomo as its Lagos chairman.
Recall that MC Oluomo was suspended indefinitely in March as the Lagos chairman over allegations of insubordination and misconduct bordering on inciting members of the union against the national body.
Thereafter, Oluomo announced his withdrawal from the body.
But in a statement released today titled ‘Dissolution of Lagos State Administrative Council.’, and signed by its National President, Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa, and General Secretary, Alhaji Kabiru Ado Ya’u, the National Administrative Council of the union said the decision was based on the provisions of the union’s constitution.
“MC Oluomo has been sacked as Lagos chairman. We had a meeting last night. We have replaced him. His earlier withdrawal from the union holds no ground. That’s unacceptable to us,” a national officer said.
The union has announced Seyi Bankole as the new head of the union in Lagos state.
