An illegal petroleum products dump with over 54,000litres of illegally refine AGO have been uncovered and sealed in the Federal Capital Territory.
The discovery and sealing of the illegal oil dump was made by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Olusola Odumosu, spokesman of NSCDC on Sunday, confirmed the incident in a post on the agency’s Facebook page.
Odumosu, in the post, explained that the “over 54,000 liters of suspected vandalised, illegally refined and adulterated Automotive Gas Oil, one pumping machine, one generator, two surface tanks containing suspected adulterated and illegally refined AGO were recovered.”
The post added two empty surface tanks, four empty trucks, one truck containing suspected vandalised, illegally refined and adulterated AGO, two drums of AGO, two different waybills, two different vehicle plates, one pump action, one dane-gun and six cartridges were recovered.
