The Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Kano Command, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, said in a statement, that their arrests were made, following a swift response to a distressed call by unguwar Fulani residents, Kumbotso Local Government Area.

According to him, “the ever vigilant operatives of the Corps, Kumbotso divisional office have arrested nine suspected burglars who had perfected nefarious plans to burgle and steal from a polythene products company situated at Challawa industrial area.”

He identified the suspects to include Abba Nasiru Adamu (23), Ibrahim Adamu (22), Hassan Sulaiman (30) Basiru Aliyu, (25), Hashimu Ibrahim (49).

Others are Umar Hudu Hassan (27), Shamsu Haruna (3 7), Ibrahim Abubakar (39), Mudassir Hassan Dahiru, (23).

He added that the suspected criminals are from Kurna, Dotsa and Brigade areas of kano state.

SC Idris said, however, one Nasiru Haladu, the gang kingpin (prime suspect), who is a staff of the Polythene Company, is at large and a serious manhunt has been launched by the Corps to apprehend him.

According to him, the suspects stormed the area in a Toyota Corolla E with registration number ABC396LX with a view to burgle and steal large collection of the company’s goods.

Luck ran out on them when, with the assistance of the community, personnel of the Corps apprehended them.

The suspects have since confessed to the crime and upon completion of investigation by the Corps intelligence and investigation department, they will all be charged to court

The suspects’ vehicle earlier arranged to convey the stolen products has been burnt to ashes by the irate youth of the area.

Our Correspondent reports that in recent times, criminally-minded elements have been tormenting the area with burglary, theft as well as vandalization of public assets.

There nefarious activities have become a source of concern to residents of Unguwar Fulani, Kumbotso Local Government Area.
