Nigerian actress Temitope Osoba, fondly called Tope Osoba by her fans, has reportedly passed away at the age of 40.
She died barely a year after surviving a battle with breast cancer,
The entertainer stepped away from acting to focus on her health, but returned to the industry shortly after a successful treatment in 2025.
However, she had not been very active in recent months, ostensibly due to health concerns.
The actress first revealed her diagnosis after discovering a lump during a self-examination. She underwent surgery and later appealed for public support to cover the cost of further treatment. Follow-up tests eventually confirmed that the cancer had not spread, and she was declared cancer-free before resuming her acting career in 2025.
Announcing her return to the screen last year, Osoba described her recovery as a turning point in her life.
“I’m emerging stronger, more resilient, and more passionate about sharing my story and inspiring others,” she said at the time.
Her demise has come as a shock to colleagues and admirers, as she was known to be lively during her lifetime.
Details about the incident, which became known to her fans on Wednesday morning, have not been released by her family as of press time.
Tributes have begun pouring in from fellow actors and fans on social media, remembering her contributions to the movie industry and her resilience during her illness.
