A media Aide to President Buhari , Bashir Ahmad has said that the defunct SARS was not created by an executive and does not need one to be scrapped.
Ahmad said this in response to #EndSARS protesters who insisted on continuing the protests unless President Buhari issued an executive order to effect the disbandment despite the order given by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

Ahmad tweeted: “The defunct SARS was a unit of the Police, it was an administrative creation of the IG of Police, not created by q executive order or legislative act.
“We actually don’t need an executive order to fully disband the unit when the IGP with full authority has already disbanded it.”
