Nigeria on Thursday confirmed additional one hundred and twenty-five new cases of COVID-19 even as the number of persons who have recovered from the pandemic inched close to 43,000.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced via it’s Twitter account that with the additional 125 new cases said the new cases take the number of infections in the West African nation to 54,588.
The new cases, the NCDC data showed, were reported from twelve states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos moved to the top of the list with 42 new cases,followed by the FCT with 25 fresh cases.
Other States with new Infections are: Katsina – 14 and Kaduna – 11, Kwara- 8, Ondo – 7; Delta – 4; Anambra – 3; Oyo – 3; Edo – 2; Ogun – 2; Osun – 2 and Cross River -1.
Although 1,048 persons have died from COVID-19 complications, 42,627 cases have been treated and discharged in the country as schools across the country seems to be getting ready for resumption this September.
