Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has withdrawn from presiding over the affairs of the investigative Committee.
Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei on the first day of the hearing, said he was not confident of getting justice if Tunji-Ojo was part of the panel.
Pondei accused the Committee chairman of various infractions in many contracts of the NDDC and saying he seems to be on a revenge mission with the investigation.
The Committee Chairman,Tunji-Ojo, while addressing his colleagues on Monday, said he was withdrawing from presiding over Monday’s hearing to allow fair hearing.
He also said he needed to protect his integrity and denied that he was not on a revenge mission.
