The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has graduated 50 trainees from its intensive crane operation programme covering Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.
The graduation and certificate presentation ceremony took place on Friday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Speaking at the event, Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Felix Omatsola Ogbe represented by board official Halvin Okonmah stated that the initiative forms part of efforts to boost local workforce participation and build sustainable capacity within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The four-week training was facilitated by Zigma Limited. Representing the firm’s Managing Director, Funmi Ogbue, Chief Operating Officer Ojinika Mba-Kalu revealed that the 50 graduates were selected from a pool of 355 applicants following a competitive screening process.
The curriculum combined classroom instruction with practical training, covering crane operating principles, equipment inspection, load handling, hazard assessment, and health and safety standards.
