The Nasarawa State Attorney And commissioner for Justice, Abdulkarim Kana has blamed the high rate of unemployment in the state on the lack of essential skills among the youth.
Kana in a chat said the state’s worst problem is not youths unemployment but unemployability, as majority of the graduates are half-baked.
“How many of our graduates from College of Education, Polytechnic or the University can stand on their own and set up a small business?
“How many of them can withstand a proper aptitude test in multinational or international organizations?
“Some of them only buy the certificate, that is why they are not productive and not creative.
“Most of them cannot do something on their own because they are not creative. They only depend on government to provide jobs for them. But government can’t give job to everybody,” he said.
He encouraged the youth to start something no matter how little and God will bless them.
