The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has decided to suspend its planned nationwide strike.
This followed a meeting with the Federal Government and stakeholders on Monday.
The strike was intended to be a response to the harsh economic conditions affecting tanker drivers, who had halted operations and refused to transport petroleum products.
NARTO members had threatened a countrywide shutdown starting Monday due to the exorbitant cost of automotive gas oil (diesel), which is essential for fueling their trucks used in transporting petroleum products across Nigeria.
