My Choice Group Doles Out N5m Interest-Free Loans; Distributes Palliatives To Widows

My Choice Group has doled out N5m interest-free loans to some selected beneficiaries in Akure, the Ondo State capital, to boost their businesses. The Group also distributed cash palliatives to widows and aged women to cushion the effect of hardship in the country.

The distribution of the palliatives and loans was held at the Head Office of My Choice Group in Akure with some members of the Group receiving loans ranging from N20,000 to N100,000. Fifty members were penciled down with distribution of the loan scheme to be done in tranches.

This was not the first time the Group will be supporting the less privileged and widows with financial assistance. No fewer than 65 aged and widows had benefitted from the benevolence of the Group.

The Founder of the Group, Princess Omowumi Olatunji- Ohwovoriole; represented by the Matron of the Group, Pastor Mrs. Mosunmola Kayode; said the programme has been on since 2004 to honour and help the less privileged.

Mrs. Kayode while commending Mrs. Olatunji- Ohwovoriole for passionately touching lives through her initiatives said the gesture was to help cushion economic challenges faced by the people most especially the widows and the aged.

She advised the beneficiaries of the soft loan to make judicious use of the money and pay back on time into the account given to them to allow other people benefit.

Each of the widow and aged women who totalled 65, were presented with cash donations of N5,000 each, as well as the distribution of cheques ranging from N20,000 to N100,000 to members.

Speaking, Comrade Agoye Friday applauded the gesture of the Group, charging political leaders in the state to emulate the Founder of the Group, Hon Omowumi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole who used her resources to remember the less-privileged in the society.

Likewise, Comrade Adeluwoye described Mrs. Olatunji Ohwovoriole as a compassionate leader who has genuine mind for human capital development.

On his part, Mr Ayo Oniyesan, Chairman of the Group from Ilaje who was given loan of N100,000 called Hon Ohwovoriole a woman with good heart, assuring her that they will make good use of the money.

“It takes a good heart to give to the people, this kind of gesture is not common in our society.

“We are not going to disappoint her and she can be assured that the money is going into my business”.

Mr Bashiru Kamoru thanked and commended the Founder of the Group saying the N50,000 loan given to him will be added to his business.

Meanwhile, the N5m loan was given to each beneficiary according to their type of business engagement.
