Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang says state is open for investment and strategic partnerships.
Mutfwang said this when he received European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, during visit to Plateau State.
According to governor, engagement provided opportunity to reaffirm administration’s commitment to building stronger international partnerships anchored on mutual benefit, investment, innovation and sustainable development.
He said Plateau is richly endowed with enormous opportunities, particularly in agriculture, livestock and dairy production, renewable energy, education and tourism.
Mutfwang said as government continues to reposition economy, it is determined to transform comparative advantages into productive investments that create jobs, strengthen local industries and improve livelihoods.
He said agriculture remains central to vision, noting from indigenous crops including acha to livestock and dairy value chains, Plateau possesses significant potential for increased production, processing and access to both domestic and international markets.
Governor added administration is committed to modernising livestock management by leveraging technology, expertise and strategic partnerships.
In energy sector, he appreciated EU collaboration in exploring sustainable energy solutions for health institutions across state and expressed optimism over actualisation of proposed 5-megawatt hydropower project at Assop Falls, which will support efforts to expand access to reliable and sustainable energy.
He invited European partners and wider international investment community to look beyond Nigeria’s traditional commercial centres and explore opportunities on the Plateau, assuring administration will continue to create enabling environment for credible investors and partnerships that bring technology, capital and expertise while delivering lasting value.
“Plateau is open to the world, and we are ready to build partnerships that will translate our abundant potential into shared prosperity,” Mutfwang said.
