Kano Municipal has been thrown into mourning as a night fire outbreak killed a 35-year-old mother, alongside her three-year-old baby while they were asleep.
The inferno occured at Gandun Albasa-Bala Barodo in Kano Municipal Local Government.
The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi.
He said they received a distress call from one Ibrahim Ashiru that a five-room bungalow was completely razed.
Saminu said that the victims were rescued unconscious and handed over to Inspector Shehu Lawan of Kwali Police Station, adding that doctors on duty at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital comfirmed them dead.
Saminu decried rising cases of fire disasters as over twenty people were burnt beyond recognition in a late night fire on Thursday at Sheka Karshen Kwalta.
He added that twenty sheep and eight grain silos were also burnt to ashes in Kunchi Local Government Area of the State.
