The 32-year-old Moses Ayaka was paraded at the NSCDC headquarters in Lafia by the State commandant, Abbas Bappa-Muhammed, on Wednesday September 21.
Public Relations Officer of the command, DSC Jerry Victor, said Ayaka was arrested on September 9, 2022 at about 5pm following a tip off
He was nabbed with various items belonging to the military.
The suspect confessed to the crime and told the command that some of the items were sold to him by one Lance Corporal (LCPL) Gabriel serving in Maiduguri, Borno State, and LCPL Daniel serving in Calabar, Cross-River State.
He also confessed to have defrauded over 22 individuals to the tune of N440,000. Ayaka blamed the devil and also pleaded for leniency.
Items recovered from the suspect include a set of camouflage, P-Cap tie, military inner vest, a jack-knife and a motorcycle the suspect allegedly stole from one of his victims.
Jerry Victor said the suspect will be prosecuted after investigation.
