The governor in an audio message to the people of the state said he and all his supporters have to submit to the will of Almighty Allah as things happen only by his will and wished the governor-elect well as he pilots the affairs of the state.

He explained that his administration, when it came on board, met with all major stakeholders in the state on how best they could restore lasting peace through peace dialogues.

He, however, lamented that up till today there is nothing more challenging than insecurity bedevilling the state resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of valuables.

The governor stated that apart from the peace dialogue with armed bandits, he worked hard to see that his administration brought in different political factions into one platform for peace and unity in the state for people to go about their normal activities.

The governor said, “We have achieved political reconciliation and this paved the way for peaceful campaign rallies and healthy political activities in the state.”

Matawalle also sought the forgiveness of anyone he knowingly or unknowingly offended or hurt their feelings, adding that he is a human being like anyone and only Almighty Allah’s deeds or actions are error-free.

He also appealed for calm and sympathised with those who have lost property in the name of celebration, stressing that they should understand that they have no other place than Zamfara State.

He also called on the incoming administration to work hard to restore peace to the state and expressed the government’s gratitude for the commitment and hard work and resilience of the people of their dear state.
