27-year-old man, Enoch Yohanna, has been arrested for allegedly pushing his girlfriend, 28-year-old Ruth Amos to death at Sabon Laura area of Bauchi city.
Spokesperson of Bauchi Police Command, Ahmed Muhammed Wakil, in a statement on Friday, said the incident happened at about 4:45pm on October 7, 2021.
Muhammed said a patrol by detectives sighted the 28-year old lady laying in a pool of blood with wounds on her head and blood gushing from her mouth at their residence.
He said the detectives evacuated the deceased to Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where a doctor confirmed her dead.
He said on the date of the incident , Enoch sighted the deceased coming out of the compound of another man and out of jealousy, challenged her, which led to an argument between them, and in the process he allegedly pushed her and she hit her head on the ground.
The police said further investigation into the incident revealed that the deceased and Yohanna were in a romantic relationship and had two children before her unfortunate death.
He said the suspect, who resides in Gwallameji Doka, upon his arrest voluntarily confessed to the crime.
He said the suspect will soon be profiled and charged to court.
