A Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Human Rights, Kelvin Ejumudo, in his Facebook timeline commended the judge for upholding the rule of law.

Ejumudo who doubles as National Secretary of Human Rights Protection Congress, HRPC, also lauded the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Omamuzo Erebe, SAN for a quality representation while the matter lasted in court.

Ejumudo wrote, “Justice at last for 11 years old girl who was raped by Mr Ernest Okporu in March 2024 in Osubi community of Delta State.

“The judgement was in our favour as Mr Ernest Okporu was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for raping a minor of 11 years old.”

He said rape is traumatic, “the little girl is still traumatized till date whenever she recalls the ugly incident how she was tied and raped by Mr Ernest.

“In the coming days his picture will be posted on the Delta website for rape offenders to serve as deterrence. He was convicted under the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act Delta State (VAPP LAW).

Ejumudo also appreciated the Delta State Governor for his zero tolerance for rape and defilement and other related matters in the state.
