A man identified as Abubakar Ijidai has allegedly attacked his former girlfriend and k!lled her mother on their farm in Dille District of Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State
The incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 when 18-year-old Lami Azuba and her mother, Hauwa Azuba,38, had gone to their farm.
It was gathered that the victims were accosted and attacked with a machete by the suspect.
Sources told security analyst, Zagazola Makama that the assailant, who hails from the same district, fled immediately after the attack, leaving both women in pools of blood.
According to police sources, officers from the Lassa Police Outpost visited the scene and evacuated the victims to the General Hospital in Lassa.
“Unfortunately, Hauwa Azuba was certified d3ad on arrival by the attending doctor, while her daughter, Lami, was referred to the General Hospital in Mubi, Adamawa State, for further treatment due to the severity of her injuries,” the report stated.
The body of the deceased was photographed and released to the family for burial in accordance with Christian rites.
Community members have called for swift justice as Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend him for diligent prosecution.
