Makinde Upgrades Saki General Hospital To Specialist Hospital

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has commissioned the upgraded General Hospital in Saki to a Specialist Hospital with state-of the-art facilities.

The facility was initially intended to serve as an Observatory, Isolation and Treatment Centre to support the efforts of the state government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commissioning the project,the Governor noted that the COVID-19 pandemic prompted Government to accelerate plans towards addressing the dilapidating healthcare infrastructure in Oyo State.

He however expressed the belief that the facility will slow down the spread of infectious diseases that often ravage the communities.

The Saki Specialist Hospital boasts of a ten-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with two Gradian State-of-the-Art mechanical ventilators with humidifiers, various accessories, three patient monitors, two CPAP machines with face shields, re-breather bags to deliver maximum oxygen requirements, a twelve-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU), twelve-bed female General Ward, an operating theatre, a recovery room, high-end laboratories and equipments to aid research.

It also have Cobas c 111 analyser, Parameter Haematology Analyser, Clotting Profile Analyser, autoclave and biosafety cabinet, a twelve-bed Observatory Unit, ten-based Isolation Unit, seven-bed Resuscitation Unit, two diesel generators (400 KVA and 40KVA), fourteen 110 watts solar street-lights for perimeter lighting, a pharmacy, CCTV control room, mobile x-ray unit etc.
