Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has taken delivery of two DA42MN-G surveillance aircraft to enhance the security architecture of the state.
Governor Makinde took delivery of the aircraft at the tarmac of the newly upgraded Samule Ladoke Akintola airport in Ibadan.
The Governor confirmed the development in a post on his social media page, sharing pictures.
He wrote;
“Today, we took delivery of the two DA42MN-G aircraft procured by our administration for security surveillance and reconnaissance missions in Oyo State.
“We are grateful to the officers of the Nigerian Air Force who have provided support and guidance throughout this process, and we look forward to continued collaboration on the security of our dear State and nation.”
The development is coming one year after he made an official announcement of the procurement of the aircraft to boost security activities in the state.
The aircraft is expected to enhance aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid response to criminal activities, particularly in forests and other hard-to-reach areas.
