The Lagos State Government has extended financial assistance to the family of Mr. Salami Sulaimon, whose wife recently gave birth to a set of triplets.

The Special Adviser, Office of Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, who presented the financial aid to the indigent couple in her Office at the Secretariat Alausa Ikeja, stated that the government responded to the cry of the mother for assistance to enable them to take care of the newly born triplets.

Princess Adebowale disclosed that despite the challenges occasioned by the massive destruction of public and private concerns by hoodlums during the #ENDSARS protest in the State, Governor Sanwo-Olu is still committed to rendering necessary assistance to Lagosians, especially the needy.

She said the financial assistance extended to the couple was to support them, particularly the mother, in caring for the babies as well as starting a micro-business in their neighbourhood while the husband, who is a vulcanizer, will be assisted with an Ubiquitous Vulcanising Box (U-Box) – a work station given to vulcanisers by the State government, so that the couple could work and jointly sustain their family.

While giving assurance that the representatives of the Office of Civic Engagement will visit the family regularly, the Special Adviser asserted that the financial assistance given to establish a micro-business will be monitored to ensure appropriate and prudent use of the money.

In his response, Mr. Salami Sulaimon, father of the triplets, who was overwhelmed with joy, thanked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Special Adviser, Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale for the financial assistance which, he said, would go a long way in helping the family to take care of the triplets.

He noted that it was a herculean task taking care of the previous three children in the family with the additional triplets, promising to heed the advice given by the Office of Civic Engagement on the financial assistance so as to maximise its benefits to the family.
