The Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi II, was laid to rest on Wednesday, February 1st, following his passing in Abuja after a brief illness in Tuesday at age 78.

He is survived by two wives, 13 children and grandchildren.

The body of the late Emir was laid to rest at kargo public cemetery in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

The burial ceremony was conducted according to Islamic rites, with prayers and tributes being offered in honor of the late Emir’s life and contributions to the community.

A large turnout of mourners, including politicians, governors, traditional leaders, and religious leaders, attended the funeral to pay their respects to the late Emir.

Amongst them are the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa’ad, the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, and the vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kashim Shettima.

Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi II was widely regarded as a respected and revered figure in the region, known for his wisdom and commitment to the well-being of his people.

He served as the Emir of Dutse for many years, and will be remembered as a symbol of unity and leadership in the community.
