The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service have alerted the public of an accident involving a petroleum tanker at lekki-Epe Expressway calling for caution from Motorists till evacuation is completed.
A statement signed by the Director, Mrs. Adeseye Margaret on Sunday, said the accident involving a Mack Tanker fully laden with 45,000 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit and a Tipper Truck at Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos occured today.
She said; “The tanker, which was reportedly hit by a run-away tipper truck, spilt its content while trying to enter an NNPC Filling Station along the axis.
“The incident, which occurred at Majek Bus Stop, inward Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, has been cordoned off to prevent danger.”
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is mitigating the situation with the deployment of Chemical Foam Compound to neutralise petrol from causing a secondary incident.
Motorists and passers-by are hereby advised to tread with utmost caution around this corridor until the evacuation is completed.
