The streets of Idanre are awash in celebrations as the community prepares for the grand finale of Ketewa Festival on Thursday, December 29.

The peak of the 3-day festival is an excitement-packed cultural night where about 20 cultural troupes and musical bands will be entertaining the audience which comprises traditional rulers, high chiefs, students groups, clubs and associations.

The grand finale will also witness the celebration of two major Senior High Chiefs : Ojomu- Elect, Akinloye Akinmboni and Osolo-Elect, Victor Ojo Alalabiaye.

Until their recent elevations to the new exalted positions, Akinmboni, a shrewd businessman, was the Bashorun of Idanre while Alalabiaye, an astute politician, was the Bobagunwa of idanre.

The duo will be brought on stage after an inspiring recitation of their respective panegyrics. While an aghoro ule Solo will pay tributes to Alalabiaye, aghoro ule Jomo will beautify Akinmboni with ancestral poetic cadences.

Among new chiefs to grace the epic event is the newly installed Ejigeme of Idanre, Chief Ojo Gbolani Alebiosu.

It will be a night of a thousand songs where the spirit of the late woro music legend, Adebayo Kuroja will be invoked on the stage.

His son, Sina Omo Oja will be the star artiste, who is expected to perform his dad’s hit tracks to the delight of all.

The last two editions of the of festival had featured Francis Akintade, the woro music legend as the star artiste, but Sina Omo Oja will have the stage this year alongside other traditional musicians like Lege, Terenren, Bose, Genesis and scores of others.

The juju music flavour will also be dominated by Segun Wonders and King Destiny.
