Kebbi State Government has approved the reopening of all schools across the state, setting a definite date for the continuation of academic activities.
The approval covers both public and private schools and takes effect from Monday, January 5, 2026, according to an official directive issued by the state authorities.
The directive was contained in a letter signed by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Isah Ibrahim K.
The government explained that the temporary closure of schools was carried out to ensure safety and proper administrative preparedness ahead of resumption.
“The Kebbi State Government has approved the reopening of schools across the state with effect from Monday, 5th January, 2026,” the letter stated.
It added that the directive applies to all public and private educational institutions operating within Kebbi State.
The statement urged school administrators, teachers, parents, students and Education Secretaries to take note of the decision and ensure full compliance.
School heads were directed to put all necessary measures in place to guarantee a smooth and safe resumption of academic activities.
“All school heads are expected to make adequate preparations for the reopening,” Isah Ibrahim said.
Parents and guardians were also advised to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly, as teaching and learning activities would begin immediately.
The Kebbi State Government reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining stability in the education sector, stressing that academic sessions would commence without delay following the reopening of schools.
