The Kano State Police Command has arrested ten receivers of stolen motorcycles and recovered seven bikes.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, August 21, 2025 said the arrest was part of the ongoing crackdown on motorcycle theft across the state.

“The Kano State Police Command is succeeding in its ongoing fight against motorcycle theft and related crimes. Following the arrest of a notorious motorcycle thief, Dahiru Jibrin, on 11th August 2025, further investigations conducted by the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) led to the arrest of ten (10) receivers of stolen motorcycles and the recovery of seven (7) stolen motorcycles,” the statement read.
“The recovered motorcycles have been handed over to their rightful owners as part of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property. This achievement underscores the relentless efforts of the Kano State Police Command to dismantle criminal networks, including those involved in motorcycle theft and the illegal trade of stolen goods.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, SFIPMA, MNIM, MNIPS, MASIS, commended the officers involved in the investigation for their professionalism, diligence, and dedication to duty.
“He also urged members of the public to continue supporting the Police by providing timely information and cooperating in efforts to maintain peace and security across the State.
