The Kaduna State Government has sealed a private hospital and two health technology colleges that have been operating illegally in the Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
The monitoring team of the state Ministry of Health and that of Education sealed off Jamatu Nasril Islam School of Home Nursing First Aid, Isma School of Health Technology, and Sardauna Memorial Foundation Hospital, all located in the Rigasa area, in the outskirt of Kaduna metropolis.
The owners of the three medical facilities, according to the Commissioner of health, Dr Amina Baloni, were operating a hospital and training schools for nurses without obtaining a licence from the government.
For many years, the Sardauna Memorial hospital, located inside Rigasa, a densely populated area in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, operated and carried out normal clinical services to members of the host community.
Among the services rendered by the hospital are surgery, antenatal, immunization, and laboratory services.
However, the hospital came under the watch list of the Kaduna State Ministry of Health as a monitoring team set up by the ministry stormed the hospital, only to discover that it has been operating illegally for years.
Apart from operating without licence and government approval, the hospital is also accused of operating in an unhealthy environment without the necessary facilities.
