The Kaduna State Government has extended all over the state the 24-hour curfew earlier imposed in some communities in Chikun and Kaduna South LGAs.
The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs,Samuel Aruwan announced this is a statement on Saturday.
The restriction which takes immediate effect follows the looting of warehouses – where COVID-19 palliatives were reportedly stored by the government .
He said the measure is taken to help safeguard communities, protect lives and properties and contain criminal elements who are looting public and private assets.

“The extension of the 24-hour curfew to all the 23 local government areas of the state is effective immediately.
“Kaduna State Government will keep the situation under review and regrets the inconvenience it may cause to law-abiding citizens, he said.
The state government wishes to appeal to all residents of the state to kindly bear with the government as it takes necessary action to maintain law and order, and to protect the right of citizens to live in peace.
Residents were said to have trooped to Gwari Avenue where they discovered a warehouse and immediately forced it open and carted away food items.
However, the attempt by security operatives to stop the residents from looting the warehouse proved abortive because of their large number.
Some hoodlums in the area also used the opportunity to break into private homes and carted away household items.
