The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed Saturday, 13 June 2026, for the mop-up UTME for candidates whose exams were disrupted by technical glitches and biometric failures.
The board in a statement on Monday said only candidates who were duly registered and bio-metrically verified but were unable to sit the examination due to disruptions are eligible.
“Affected candidates include those assigned to centres with technical failures, those who could not be biometrically verified despite presenting themselves, and those whose results were withdrawn over alleged examination infractions.”
The mop-up examination is described as the final phase of the 2026 UTME cycle, intended to resolve all outstanding cases from the main examination period, which was held between 23 and 29 April 2026.
The board emphasised that no further opportunity would be provided after this exercise. Affected candidates are expected to begin printing their examination notification slips from 6 June 2026 and should confirm their centres and make necessary arrangements ahead of the examination date.
The board had earlier held its policy meeting on 11 May 2026, where minimum cut-off marks were approved, with institutions retaining discretion to set higher benchmarks for competitive courses.
The mop-up examination is expected to conclude the 2026 UTME process, clearing the way for admission considerations that will combine UTME scores, post-UTME performance, and O-Level requirements.
