The National President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, PETROAN, Billy Gillis-Harry reacted to the recent accusations by Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Refinery against the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed.

Billy Gillis-Harry in an interview with dailypost on Monday described the allegations by Dangote as blackmail to take over the country’s downstream oil sector.

He insisted that Dangote’s accusation is too petty to be believed.

“I’m concerned from a moral point of view and a moral compass. I will say that it’s some kind of blackmail, and there is really no reason for that to happen if there are facts to any allegation that Apple prints authorities.

“There’s no way I can believe that Ahmed Faruq will have money to go and pay for secondary school. I mean, it’s very petty as far as I’m concerned,” he told

Recall that Dangote on Sunday in a briefing in Lagos claimed that Ahmed is paying $5 million, which is over N7 billion, as fees for his children in a Swiss school without adequate elaboration.

The billionaire businessman accused Ahmed of economic sabotage by encouraging fuel importers.
