The Israeli government has donated the first batch of fully equipped ambulances, medical equipment and wheelchairs to Nigeria to strengthen emergency healthcare delivery.*
The consignment includes fully equipped ambulances, modern medical devices and wheelchairs, which are expected to be deployed to hospitals and emergency centres across Nigeria.
The consignment was handed over at the Port of Ashdod by Magen David Adom on behalf of Israel and received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Ufochukwu.
Ufochukwu said the donation would improve patient care and support emergency and disaster response efforts.
She described the gesture as a reflection of the growing relationship between Nigeria and Israel in healthcare, humanitarian assistance and technology transfer.
She added that the donation demonstrated Israel’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s efforts to achieve universal health coverage and build a more resilient healthcare system
“The ambulances, for instance, represent more than vehicles or medical equipment; they represent time saved in critical moments of medical emergency,” the ambassador said.
The donation also highlights growing cooperation between Nigeria and Israel in healthcare, humanitarian assistance and technology transfer.
