Meanwhile , Kano State Governo , Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed shock over the death of veteran broadcaster

The governor in a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Abba Anwar, on Monday in Kano described the late broadcaster as a man of honour and integrity, who listened to both sides when it came to professionalism.

“We were shocked when we received the demise of this veteran journalist, a complete gentleman, an accurate time keeper, a disciplined mentor to many professionals across the globe, and a very caring father, Isa Abba Adamu,”

Adding that, “His professional disposition transcended his country, as someone who spent decades with BBC, who even headed BBC Africa Section, because of his professional dexterity, aptness in time management, commitment to duty, professional integrity and honesty and incalculable management of both human and material resources.”

His death, according to the governor, is a great loss, not only to Kano state, Nigeria or West Africa, “It is a loss to Africa and the global body of journalism profession. With his death, vacuum exists.”

“May his soul rest in peace. May Allah give his families the fortitude to bear the loss. May Allah forgive all his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Jannatul Fiddaus,” he prayed.

He urged his family members to always take a leaf from his exemplary life. Concluding that, “It is therefore on behalf of the government and good people of Kano state, that I am commiserating with his family, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Kano as a state, friends and well wishers, among others, over his death that took us with all shocks.”
