The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said a trending portal for recruitment of ad hoc staff for the 2023 general election is fake.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
The statement added that the commission was not recruiting for the election as its official website for the recruitment had been shut down.
He said the website/blog advertising ad hoc staff positions for the 2023 general election was fake, adding that “the INEC ad hoc staff recruitment portal was officially shut down on Dec. 14 2022.
“Therefore, the site, with the URL – http://www.yournewclaims.com/Inec-Recriutment/ is fake. It is intended to defraud unsuspecting members of the public. Nigerians should disregard it,” he said.
It would be the second time the INEC would raise the alarm over an existing fake portal announcing recruitment of staff, the firs was on Oct. 5, 2022 when it raised a similar alarm of fake ad hoc recruitment link inecnigeria.govservice.site being circulated online.
