Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has inaugurated a 20-man high powered committee for the implementation of Right of Way of the two newly completed transmission lines in the state.
The committee was inaugurated following completion of the lines in Dan Agundi and Rimin Zakara.
Kano State is Northern Nigeria’s commercial capital and requires more mega watts of electric power supply for economic growth.
The state government had embarked on the construction of an independent power plant at Tiga and Challawa dams.
The project is now completed and due for inauguration.
At the Ante-Chamber of the Kano Government House, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje Inaugurates a high powered 20 man committee to implement Right of Way and power evacuation from the transmission lines of Dan Agundi and Rimin Zakara.
A few days before the inauguration of the committee, the Minister of Power, had in company of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, inspected the Rimin Zakara Transmission Station.
Kano’s Head of Civil Service, Usman Bala, is the Chairman of the new committee while others including the state commissioner of information will serve as members.
Part of the responsibilities of the inaugurated committee is to enlighten the public on the importance of the project to the economic development of the state.
They are expected to submit their report within four weeks.
