Ikeja Electric has attributed the reduced hours of electricity supply across its network to a shortfall in power allocation from the national grid.
The electricity distribution company disclosed this in a statement signed by its management on Monday, October 19, 2026, titled “POWER SUPPLY CONSTRAINTS DUE TO REDUCED GRID ALLOCATION”.
“We wish to inform customers across Ikeja Electric network that the reduced hours of electricity supply is due to a shortfall in the amount of power currently allocated to our network from the national grid,” the statement said.
The company acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the situation, saying, “We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding”.
Ikeja Electric said it was engaging relevant stakeholders to improve the available electricity supply.
“Please be assured that we are actively engaging the relevant stakeholders to improve the available power supply and will continue to distribute the power received from the grid as efficiently and equitably as possible,” it said.
The company also pledged to keep customers updated on developments, stating, “We remain committed to keeping you informed as the situation evolves.”
