Speaking on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, the AIG NPF-NCCC, observed that rapid technological advancement continues to shape global security, economic development and international relations, while also creating new opportunities for cybercriminals and other malicious actors.

He noted that the evolving threat landscape requires security agencies, policymakers and diplomatic institutions to strengthen collaboration in protecting the nation’s digital ecosystem.

He stated that the Nigeria Police Force recognises that an effective response to emerging cyber threats must be driven by anticipatory intelligence, resilient digital infrastructure, continuous capacity development and sustained collaboration among government institutions, the private sector and international partners.

He described the seminar as a strategic platform for promoting knowledge sharing, strengthening inter-agency cooperation and advancing global best practices in cyber security and digital diplomacy.

The Director reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to combating cybercrime through intelligence-led operations, capacity building, strategic partnerships and sustained public awareness initiatives aimed at protecting citizens, critical national infrastructure and the country’s digital economy.

He urged participants to translate the knowledge gained from the seminar into practical policies and collaborative initiatives that will strengthen Nigeria’s cyber resilience and contribute to a safer digital environment. He also commended the organisers for convening the seminar and wished participants fruitful deliberations.

The seminar brought together stakeholders from the security, diplomatic and technology sectors to examine emerging issues in artificial intelligence, cyber statecraft and digital diplomacy in support of Nigeria’s national security and foreign policy objectives
